Fiordland: A Paradise for Adventurers
Fiordland, with its stunning landscapes and deep blue waters, is a true paradise for adventurers. Among those who have explored this remote wilderness is Ollie Craig, the mastermind behind Primal Pursuit. His epic adventures in hunting, fishing, and diving have thrilled countless thrill-seekers. They have also revealed some of the magic that lies within this breathtaking region.
A Journey of Adventure
In November 2024, we joined Ollie and his mates on a remarkable journey from Bluff to Doubtful Sound. We departed early for nearly a 12-hour steam into Preservation Inlet. As we approached the entrance, Ollie and his crew suited up with excitement.
Activities Galore
We spent a couple of unforgettable days in Preservation and Chalky Inlet. The activities included free-diving, spear fishing, fishing, snorkeling, and a bit of hunting. We also enjoyed some delicious meals. Each moment was filled with thrilling experiences and breathtaking views.
From Chalky Inlet, we ventured to Dusky Sound. This leg took about four hours on open water. Again, as we approached the entry, the crew was ready for some underwater action. Fiordland certainly loves to provide this kind of experience!
Exploring Further
We traveled up the Acheron Passage, passing stunning waterfalls and heading into Breaksea Sound. Here, we found more epic adventures waiting for us. Nature surrounded us at every turn, with the sounds of water cascading and wildlife calling out.
Our final leg took us north again, towards Deep Cove in Doubtful Sound. Along the way, we witnessed incredible wildlife and picturesque scenery. The crew even had a bit of a boogie on the top deck, taking time to reflect on their epic last five days.
